About
Volunteers with a background in social work can work directly with families to assess goals, barriers, and connect families to the resources they need to solve problems. Examples may include helping families apply for vouchers and other forms of assistance, creative problem solving, helping put together a budgeting plan, helping file FAFSA and other application materials, and so on.
Volunteers from other fields can assist with administrative work, strategic planning, and other behind-the-scenes work that helps our organization thrive! Volunteers can also host virtual classes or record videos to teach art, music, recreational activities, and more. These videos can either be geared towards adult participants, children, or teens. Volunteers can also help with special events, such as dropping off Halloween candy in costume.
All volunteers will receive a personal letter of recommendation upon request, can choose whichever title fits best with their professional goals (intern, liaison, media manager, etc.), and can also receive help writing a resume line to describe the volunteering experience.
