In-person Independent Program

Open Opportunity

Upward Bound is seeking volunteers to take on various roles.

Tutors: Volunteers will assist students who need help in any subject in grades 9-12. Students may also need help with preparing for tests, studying for the ACT/SAT, note-taking, homework assistance, etc. Some students may need one on one tutoring scheduled outside of typical Upward Bound tutoring days and times.

Mentor: Volunteers will connect with Upward Bound students and provide mentorship, advice, and share their own experiences within the academic/professional atmospheres.

Chaperone: Occasionally, we will need chaperones to attend out of town trips with us.

Workshop assistance: Upward Bound hosts workshops covering multiple topics. We need assistance in setting up workshops, distributing materials to students, working one-on-one or in small groups with students during the workshop, and other tasks that may arise.

Other volunteer opportunities include creating classroom boards, developing useful materials for Upward Bound students, managing social media pages, creating and presenting workshops, and more.

Currently have tutoring dates set up for Mondays and Tuesdays 3pm to 5pm. One on one tutors can set up times outside of tutoring dates. We also have in office volunteer opportunities that can be scheduled anytime through out the week
Saturdays sessions are scheduled for every second Saturday of the month from 9 am -2pm chaperone opportunities will be listed at later date
