About

Volunteers will be assisting with Muncie Public Library's Great Achievers after school program. We serve children from grades 1st-5th. Volunteers would be assisting the classroom teachers in classroom management, providing homework assistance, and talking and playing with the children throughout the program.

We will not be accepting volunteer applications or sign ups after February 28th, 2022. This is to ensure consistency with the children. Additionally, you must volunteer at least biweekly for the entire semester (not including breaks, holidays, illness, emergency, etc).

Clothing for this assignment will follow Muncie Public Library dress code standards. "Clothing should not be ripped, torn, stained or have holes, and must project an image if professionalism and approachability." Jeans are perfectly acceptable so long as they do not have large rips, tears, or holes. Tattoos and piercings are also acceptable so long as they fit with the guidelines below. Additionally, we are requiring masks in our program for all students, staff, and volunteers. Please note, this a volunteer position working with children and we try to go outside most every day.

"Clothing, visible tattoos and/or accessories with profanity, racial, religious, or ethnic slurs, sexual content or connotation, and other images, symbols or wording that state or suggest discriminations or an intolerance of a person's race, color, age, religion, sex, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or other legally protected status is strictly prohibited"

We operate on MCS calendar. We will not have our program on Jan. 17th 2022, February 21st, and March 21st-24th.
