SHFB Madison County Volunteers

About

Each county served by SHFB has several programs that requires full community support to ensure our food insecure neighbors have access to additional resources. Our volunteers provide help for today and hope for tomorrow. The volunteers in the warehouse assist with sorting products and making them ready to go out to mobile distributions and local community volunteers take the products from our trucks and place them into the hands/vehicles of those who need it. There are untold additional community members who will wait in line and then take the resources to neighbors, friends and family!

If you would like be a part of what we do, please scroll down to look at upcoming opportunities. When you find the event that suits you best, simply select it and follow the prompts. Once you are registered, you should receive a reminder 24 hours before the event you selected.

You can register for as many events as you would like. You will be asked to read and accept the terms of the Waiver of Liability in order to register (there are paper waivers available for all who are unable to register ahead of time).

Things to keep in mind when you arrive on site:
  •  Please come dressed for the weather and wear closed toed shoes.
  • Mobile distributions will be cancelled if the wind chill/temp is below 0 degrees or above 100 degrees with heat index (you will receive a cancellation notification if you are registered).
  • We will have masks available upon request for those who would like to wear them.
  • Please do not come if you are sick. You should not volunteer if you have fever, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, uncovered weeping wounds, etc.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kellie Arrowood, at 765-287-8698 or karrowood@curehunger.org.
