Collected trash along the trail-way and river bed of the Cardinal Greenway starting by Minnetrista. It was a little challenging to find trash because it was underneath all the leaves, but once I discovered one item, there were multiple nearby. Proud of all the trash I picked up.
This experience was a wonderful way to get out into Muncie and help the environment. I went with a group of staff members from my residence hall and we spent the time picking up trash alongside the pathways manicured by Cardinal Greenways. It was a great way to let us see how letting one piece of trash sit in the grass accumulates over time and can destroy the environment. It was also interesting to see the kind of litter that was distributed around the pathway and understand a little bit more about Muncie. There was a lot of fast food and wrappers remnants, which is reflective of the city and what they are consuming. In the end, I am glad I got to assist with this project and I hope to come back to make more efforts in the future.
Picked up trash along the trail-way and cleared branches off the path. I decided to take my bike and that was a bad mistake because I was constantly hiking back to retrieve it as I gathered my trash along the woods. It's a great feeling seeing the bags of trash you collect afterwards.
