Getting to participate in guarding the Flags of Honor is one of our chapter's favorite service events every year. We usually take the late shift on the Friday, which is what we did this year!
Great people to volunteer with!
Guarded the Flags of Honor Site overnight to give the members of the Muncie Exchange the night off of guarding. The duties of the overnight shift entailed watching for flags that have fallen and repairing them as well as making sure that visitors do not disturb the site flags and damage them.
Always great doing flags of honor! Definitely would recommend!
We participated in one of our National Initiatives which aims to teach African-American children how to swim. We spent time learning facts about how many children don't know how to swim, drowning rates within the African-American community and had a great time with the 25 kids who attended.
We taught minority kids the importance of knowing how to swim. We did this by providing free swim lessons to the kids at the boys and girls club through our national project Swim 1922.
My brothers from the Indiana Iota chapter of Phi Kappa Psi and myself volunteered with Habitat for Humanity toward the beginning of the year. We assisted in sorting, pricing, and stocking items at the ReStore and we moved many toilets! It was a very pleasant experience, and we can't wait to partner again.
Helping out with Uber Green's is a lot of fun and you get to learn a lot about organic greens. Was a good experience and I will be doing it again.
