Muncie Mission's Walk a Mile in My Shoes with Jinx (Muncie Animal Care and Service)

I volunteered for the Ball State Honors College homecoming open house from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the Saturday of homecoming weekend. This was a fun and exciting experience- I got to help set up for the event and then invite and greet the community and BSU collegiate members into the house for free coffee, donuts, etc. in order to promote the Honors college. This was a fun volunteer opportunity and also allowed me to meet Dean Emertt and his wife.

Helped to make a Cookies for Critters banner for our upcoming bakesale to benefit local humane societies!

This was an individual one on one with a student preparing for the APUSH and AP world exams. We went through some of their concerns about the exam and how to write the essays quickly, and get through multiple choice. We talked for about 40 minutes, and I looked up some other exam questions for about 20 minutes before our session, so an hour total.

I made paper flowers for the honors college!

I was able to help a student prepare for their AP US and World History exams which was great!

There were more students that attended today that needed help with English and a health and wellness class. It was great to be there for support!

This was a fantastic experience in which I got to help create health goody boxes that provided shampoo, conditioner, lotion, Kleenex, among other items to those in need. I loved having to decorate the box so that no one could see what was in the box until it was opened. With that, as a PC, I also helped out with extra stuff that Second Harvest needed help with. I wrote thank you notes to people who have donated items to the organization, along with individually hand bagging flyers into plastic envelopes that will be later given to parents of young children. I had a lot of fun with this program, and it was great to see people in person (while still socially distance of course) :)

We cut out blue and green hearts to add to the feminine hygiene products box!

Got to create decorations for a box for feminine hygiene products while over Zoom! I was sad I couldn't attend in person, but Zoom worked just as well!
