3rd year doing Secret Families! I was there from 7AM to 3PM, helping with loading the car/trucks with gift bags at Meijer and then traveling to the Toyota Dealership to help bring the bags inside with the correct number and number of bags. I had a great time as always and I'm looking forward to it again next year!
Back in September, my fraternity (Alpha Tau Omega), along with Alpha Phi, volunteered to help with some houses in Muncie. My experience, from 10am to 12pm, consisted of putting a large sheet around the entire house and nailing clips in the sheet to keep it up, as well as helping others with tidying up the area in and around the house. I had a great time!
I came back again on Thursday to complete the rest of my service hours. I sorted through produce, swept the aisles with some other volunteers, and bagged apples from 11:15 to 2:45! I had a good time!
One of my brothers and I came into the Food Bank with for the first time ever on Tuesday from 1:45 to about 4:35. Everyone was really nice, and the work provided kept us pretty busy. I had a good time and we got a lot of work done! I plan to continue volunteering here in the future and I will be back on Thursday to complete my service hour requirements for my fraternity and my HSC 180 class.
I was at the scramble light on that Friday afternoon handing out flyers and teaching fellow students about Muncie Mission and how they help out the community by providing shelter and meals for people in need in Delaware County!
I initially got the date wrong so I came back to fix it.
I had a great time! A few of my fraternity brothers (Alpha Tau Omega) paired with Alpha Phi to help clean the kitchen! Everything was quick and straightforward and Miss Parsons was very nice to work with!
This service event was done on the 26th of January but I made a mistake adding this impact before so I am just redoing it.
Second year doing Secret Families and it was great!
