It looked like we had more cars than last time, I didn't ask what the count was. We did have more volunteers and once we started a few more arrived from Centerpoint energy. The extra hands helped us to get through the line of cars without feeling overwhelmed. We got all the cars loaded by 3 minutes to 12, then had about a half dozen come while we were cleaning up.
We had lots of help from MPD code enforcement, each pallet had 2 people and we had one person to direct traffic at each end of the loading zone. It went so well that we ran out of cars and food with about 30 minuets left. That was even with the liftgate having power problems about half way through the tailgate time. Nate did a great job keeping stuff available for us to put in the cars even with the liftgate working very slowly.
We got through all the cars that were lined up before the start time by about 11:15 and by 11:30 the second line up. We had probably another dozen come in before 12:00. It was getting super hot by about 11:00. More help would have been good, we ran 2 lines but had to double up on items to be put in each car per person. We had 3 per line and that was pulling in a few of the guys that were doing parking line up to help bring the cars into the loading area. Nate kept us well stocked on the items we were putting in each car, and we kept the lines moving smoothly for the entire time.
The TeanWorks group were a big help! I think we had about the usual number of cars come through even with the earlier start time. It was good to get finished before it got really hot.
We had a good group of volunteers today. We got through all the cars that were lined up by 11:30 and had about a dozen come through from then until 12:00. The driver did have some problem with the battery for the lift gate on the trailer, but managed to keep us supplied so we could load up everyone.
We had a good crew of volunteers today. We got all the cars that were lined up before we started through by 1130 and had a few more come through up to about 10 after 12.
It was a little cold this morning. The donuts Kelly brought were a nice thank you. Most of our usual volunteers were present today, and a couple of new ones. We had enough to run 2 lines and were able to get through all the cars that were lined up just a little before the noon cut off time with a few that straggled in during the remaining time.
Today went very smoothly, plenty of hands made quick work of distributing food. We had more cars than last tailgate but with the extra hands we finished with all the cars that were lined up by 1130 and only had a few come between 1130 and 1200.
Thank you for sending the email about the truck being delayed. Once we got set up we were able to run two lines and it seemed to me that it went pretty smooth. We had a really good bunch of volunteers, but as always we could use a few more to make it better.
