SHFB Tailgate Food Distribution

Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm (ET)
This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

About

Due to the winter storm coming, we have decided to have the Delaware County Tailgate tomorrow evening here at SHFB. We have a small group of volunteers already expected at that time. If you are able to be here please let us know. If not, we completely understand. THank you for all you do for your community!

Volunteers will be placing food items directly into vehicles, directing traffic, handing out food pantry flyers, or helping count the number of people being served.

Volunteers will need to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes.

Continue to scroll down on this page to register for a date that’s right for you! There is a wait list available if registration is currently full (be sure to select “waitlist” during registration).

Tailgates will be cancelled if the wind chill is at 0 degrees or below or if above 100 degrees with heat index.

Please check our Facebook page for up to the minute cancellations or delays. We will send a message through GivePulse if a cancellation or change occurs.

Requirement Details
We are no longer requiring masks and no screening will be done, however, if you have fever, cough, open wounds/sores, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. we ask that you not volunteer at this time. You are welcome after 48 hours symptom free untreated by medication.
  • Volunteers must wear closed toed shoes.
  • Volunteers must wear a safety vest (SHFB will provide one if you don't have one).

Typically a Tailgates last 2 hours, however, we ask volunteers to arrive 30 min. before the Tailgate starts to assist with setting up and stay 30 min. after the Tailgate ends to help with clean up. When possible the drivers will occasionally start early and if the food runs out, they may end early.

If you answer "yes" to either of these questions, we ask you not to register:

  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? See the CDC’s symptom information.
Perks
The biggest perk of being part of a mass food distribution, is the feeling of accomplishment you'll receive once you realize that you just helped hundreds or even thousands of people in 3 hours.
Parking Details
Please park away from the folks in line to get food. Parking near where the truck will set up is advised. This is a general set up and it is possible layout would change due to weather, attendance, etc.
